What We Offer.

Explore Kashmir and Ladakh this Summer and make it a memorable experience of your life.

Winter is seen by many as the off-season in Srinagar. But this is a mistake. In winter, the unique geography of Srinigar presents a different, but just as beautiful face and personnae. Look at this photograph of the frozen Dal Lake and imagine yourself enjoying the heated rooms of your houseboat while only a short distance from the many historical and cultural sites, arts and crafts, and shopping and golfing fun, that Srinagar continues to offer. Special Packages for students are also available on request

The fabled Kashmir Valley is renowned for its beauty and historic interest. But - for the person who loves golf Kashmir offers a wonderful mix of golfing pleasure, plush lakeside houseboats, spectacular Himalayan scenery, the best of historical sightseeing, shopping, and lots of fun!!! These pleasures can be enjoyed with family and friends. If you prefer to “get away from it all” for half a day, or more, then golf provides you with a number of options while your family are engaged in other interesting and fun pursuits.

Kashmir has been rightly called an angler's paradise, with a network of rivers and streams as well as high altitude lakes all aounding in trout - both brown and rainbow. Trout fishing is far cheaper than it is in any other part of the world. A lot of very good fishing can be accessed by car . We will set you up in a carpeted camp, cook your meals, attend to your every need. Your only responsibility is to fish - and enjoy the spectacular environment. Season commences 1 st April and ends on 15 th September

Our Houseboats.

What They Say About Us.

  • Lion of Kashmir is perfection In holidays taken afloat. You can search for and wide but believe us there's not a more elegant boat. The meals on the boat are fantastic They're served by the ton everyday The only shock comes when you leave here The very next time that you wait. The water for skiing is perfect We wished that equipment was too. We broke two ropes and a handle. So see what you can get through. The skiboat was built by the Romans The engine by atilla the Nuh and despite the machine who tends them They still gave us plenty of fun. Mohammed Wangnoo and his family have been helpful in everyway. We would like to thank them sincerely for such an enjoyable stay. If you read this book all here written that the time here was much much too short. We agree and we'll soon be returning to this boat, to this lake, this resort

  • Subject: For Mohammed Wangnoo Date: Wed, 3 Dec 2003 20:52:03 -0000 Hello Mohamed You won't remember me but I remember you. My friend Richard Chambers and I used to live in Bahrain and we stayed in the Lion of Kashmir several times in the early 1980's whilst you sold us enough carpets to fit out a palace! What a pity that we couldn't afford the actual palace! I have just stumbled across your web site and it brought back so many happy memories. The last time I came to see you was on the 18th August 1986 with my fiancé Brenda, Richard Chambers and his father. stayed on the Lion of Kashmir until 22nd August. Brenda has now been my wife for more than 16 years and we still talk about our time on your houseboat. There is no doubt that Lake Nageen is the most beautiful place in the world. The last few years have been very troubled for Kashmir and we have often thought about you and your family. We hope that you have all come through the turmoil in good health. We were thinking about you last week. It was Eid Al Fitr and I remembered that we were with you one year at the time of Eid and you kindly invited Richard and I into your home to join in the feast. (We were always very good at joining in feasts!) One day we will come back to Kashmir and when we do we will be staying on one of your houseboats. With Kindest Regards

  • Once again we have been royally cared for by our lovely wangnoo family. Nothing is too much for them and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here again - especially our talks with Haji Mohammed! We will return as soon as possible - Inshalla!!
